Tesla software update 2026.38.6 started showing up on October 29, 2026, according to Not a Tesla App's release notes. As of 7 AM ET, no fleet rollout figure is available yet, and the tracker marks every change below as undocumented, meaning Tesla did not list it in its own notes. Treat the list as what the software contains, not as a promise that your car gets it today.
What's new in 2026.38.6
- Grok loses its beta label. Tesla removed the beta tag from Grok. The tracker lists Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck.
- FSD Streaks on older Model S and Model X. Legacy Model S and Model X with Intel and Hardware 3 get FSD Streak celebrations, the feature that tracks consecutive days of Full Self-Driving use.
- Halloween wraps and license plates on Intel cars. Intel-based vehicles get the same Halloween wraps and plates as AMD cars. Halloween visualizations, Trick or Treat Mode and the Halloween lock sound are not included on Intel.
- Model Y L badge animation. Tapping the Launch Series badge on the Model Y L animates it.
- Service Mode changes. When a technician enters Service Mode, the touchscreen can switch to the vehicle's country-default language and then restore the owner's language on exit. The High Voltage panel also shows isolation readings and any alerts for each component.
Which cars get it
The tracker names Intel and Hardware 3 for FSD Streaks and Intel for the Halloween items. It does not name hardware for the other changes, and it does not tie 2026.38.6 to a new FSD version. Tesla sends updates in waves, so rollout is gradual and varies by region and hardware. The tracker's version list also shows 2026.38.5.11, which carries FSD v14.3.13 for North America, as the previous release.
Halloween Mode: what Tesla says
On October 28, Tesla posted that owners can "enable Trick or Treat and your Tesla will play spooky sounds & lights when visitors approach," with the menu path Toybox > Halloween Mode > Trick or Treat. Tesla's post does not name a software version or the models that get it. Per the tracker, Intel cars on 2026.38.6 do not get Trick or Treat Mode. Our guide, How to use Tesla Halloween Mode, walks through the steps and covers what each car gets.
What it means for owners
Nothing here changes how the car drives. Check Controls > Software to see whether an update is waiting. If your car is not offered 2026.38.6 yet, it will arrive in a later wave. For earlier releases, see our posts on 2026.38.5 and 2026.38.5.10, and the full history on the software updates page.
This post will not cover rollout percentages until a tracker publishes them. Details above were confirmed from Not a Tesla App as of October 29, 2026.
