Factors
What affects range.
Temperature
Cold weather (<32°F) can reduce range by 20–40%. Heat pump models recover most of this when cabin is preheated while plugged in.
Speed
Aerodynamic drag increases with the square of velocity. Driving 75 mph vs 65 mph cuts range by ~15%.
Terrain
Elevation gain draws from the battery. Regenerative braking recovers most of that energy on the descent.
HVAC & accessories
Climate control pulls 1–5 kW. Seat heaters are far more efficient than cabin heat for staying warm.
