Tesla began rolling out software update 2026.39.6 on October 29, 2026, according to the release notes tracked by Not a Tesla App. The build lists FSD (Supervised) version 14.2.2.6. Teslascope's timeline also first noticed it on October 29. Rollout is at an early stage, so most cars have not received it.
What's new in 2026.39.6
The release notes list these features:
- FSD (Supervised): supervised driving assistance. Drivers must watch a tutorial and pass a quiz before starting it. Listed for Model S, 3, X and Y.
- Emergency Drive Away: lets you shift into Drive with a Supercharger cable still connected, for emergencies only. The notes warn it can damage the vehicle and the charger, and that camera clips are shared with Tesla. Listed for Model S, 3, X, Y and Cybertruck.
- Halloween Mode: cosmetic and sound effects, listed as available worldwide. Our Halloween Mode how-to covers setup.
- Set Arrival Energy: set the battery level you want on arrival from the Tesla mobile app. It requires mobile app version 4.58.0 or later.
- Visual Updates: higher-quality car images and an enhanced park scene on the center display, listed for Model 3 and Model Y cars with AMD hardware.
- Dynamic Headlight Leveling: automatically adjusts the low-beam aim. Listed for specific vehicles, including Model 3 and Cybertruck.
- Supercharger Site Maps: site layouts and live occupancy for select Superchargers, listed for Intel-equipped Model S, 3, X and Y.
- Security Improvements: security fixes for Model S, 3, X, Y and Cybertruck.
Which cars get it
The tracker lists Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y (including Model Y L) and Cybertruck, with both Intel and AMD infotainment computers. It does not say which FSD computers (HW3 or HW4) the update applies to, and several features are limited to specific models or hardware, as noted above. The notes do not list a region for FSD (Supervised) or Emergency Drive Away.
Rollout so far
As of about 3 PM ET on November 1, 2026, the tracker, using TeslaFi data, showed 95 cars on 2026.39.6, about 0.8% of the tracked fleet. Tesla releases updates in waves by region and hardware, so a car may not see it for some time, and some features may not appear on every car.
What it means for owners
There is nothing to download manually. Tesla delivers the update over Wi-Fi, and the car shows a prompt on the screen when it is ready. To see where your car stands, check Controls > Software. If you use a Tesla app feature such as Set Arrival Energy, update the mobile app to 4.58.0 or later.
Tesla's previous build, software update 2026.38.6, is covered in a separate post. For every version and its notes, see the software updates page and the FSD version tracker.
This post will be updated if Tesla publishes more detail or the rollout widens.
