If you live in Oregon and plan to buy a new Tesla, the state’s rebate window is short. The Oregon Clean Vehicle Rebate Program reopened August 25 and stays open through Wednesday, November 4, 2026. This is general information, not financial advice.
Timing matters
Per Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), vehicles bought or leased before August 25, or on or after November 5, are not eligible. DEQ expects the program to be "fully subscribed" and to suspend rebates on November 5 because of strong demand and limited funding. If applications exceed the money available, approved applicants go on a waiting list and are paid after DEQ’s next allotment in early spring 2027.
What each rebate pays
- Standard Rebate (open to all Oregon residents, businesses, nonprofits and government agencies): ,000 for a new battery-electric vehicle.
- Charge Ahead Rebate (for low- and moderate-income households): ,500 for a new battery-electric vehicle, or ,000 (or up to 30% of the price, under the stated cap) for a used one.
You can apply for either the Standard or the Charge Ahead rebate, not both. The vehicle must also be on DEQ’s Eligible Vehicle List, so check that your exact model and trim appear there before you order.
What to do now
- Check the DEQ eligible vehicle list for the Tesla you want.
- Confirm whether you qualify for Standard or Charge Ahead.
- Make sure your delivery date falls before November 5. Tesla delivery dates can move, so ask your delivery advisor early.
Figures are as listed by DEQ on August 26, 2026. Check the DEQ page for the latest before you buy.
