TL;DR
Tesla posted a new 34-second video on X on November 3, 2026, captioned "POV you're a flying car." Teslarati reports it shows the Roadster prototype's "kickflip" over a lineup of Tesla vehicles, filmed from cameras on the car. The footage comes from the October 15 unveiling, and Tesla's post gives no price, date or spec.
Did Tesla release new Roadster footage? Yes. Tesla's X account posted a video at 11:47 AM ET on November 3, 2026. The post's only text is "POV you're a flying car." The video runs about 34 seconds.
What does the Tesla Roadster POV video show?
Teslarati reports that the clip uses camera angles attached to the car and covers the main stunt from the October 15 unveiling at SpaceX's McGregor, Texas test site. According to Teslarati, the uncrewed prototype fires its cold-gas thrusters, rolls fully inverted and lands on its wheels after passing over a staged lineup of a Model 3, Model Y, Cybercab, Cybertruck and Tesla Semi.
The same report says Tesla vehicle engineering chief Lars Moravy dubbed the mid-air roll the "kickflip," and that Elon Musk said the runs were autonomous as a safety measure. We have not independently verified those details. They come from Teslarati's account of the event and Tesla's post.
Was the Roadster stunt real?
Snopes looked at the October 15 clips and found no sign they were faked or edited. Tesla livestreamed the event to a live audience, and attendees posted their own videos. Snopes also says whether the car "flew" is open to interpretation, because it did not show sustained flight, and that the final consumer car may not do the same things as the prototype.
What has Tesla not said about the Roadster?
Tesla's post gives no specifications, price or production date. Tesla's October 15 posts gave performance claims for three versions, which we listed in our Roadster unveiling story. Those are Tesla's claims, not independent tests. For what a reservation involves, see our guide to the Roadster deposit.
What does the Roadster video mean for Tesla owners?
Nothing changes for a Model 3, Model Y, Model S or Model X today. The Roadster is a halo car, and the video is a closer look at a demo that has already happened. You can watch it on Tesla's post.
